Maurice Klein speaks with Henry Theriault, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Worcester State University International, Founding Co-Editor, Genocide Studies International (University of Toronto Press) and Immediate Past President (2017-2021), International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) that with the recent  passing of a IAGS resolution, made the false claim to the world that an overwhelming majority of genocide experts agreed that a genocide was taking place in Israel. Appearing to now be just another group of activists masquerading as scholars, the most egregious resolution accusing Israel of everything under the sun in order to allege genocide, the resolution was passed by just 20% of the IAGS membership, in anyone’s language a far cry from an overwhelming majority. After asking Henry for some background about the IAGS and for a definition of genocide, by-the-way the United Nations defined genocide in the Genocide Convention, focusing on the intent to destroy a national, ethnic, racial or religious. Henry then very much declined to discuss the resolution in detail stating that he does not engage with genocide-deniers and abruptly terminated the interview.
