Sara E. Brown is the director of the American Jewish Committee office in San Diego. She holds the first Ph.D. in comparative genocide studies from the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University. She was also a director of Chhange, a Holocaust, human rights and genocide education nonprofit. 

Sara Brown is a genocide scholar, who has been a member of the International Association for Genocide Scholars for more than 10 years, and was on its advisory board for two, four-year terms.
