Morry Frenkel speaks with Charlotte Korchak, Founder and Senior Educator of the Jerusalem Education Institute (JEI), an organisation dedicated to educating people by providing them with accurate information on Israel, which is needed to fully understand what is happening in the region. The educational philosophy of the JEI is that details have to be presented in a way that stimulates interest and discussion, and this is achieved via the ARM method – Acknowledge/Answer, Reframe and Message. Charlotte describes how the ARM method enables students and educators to respond effectively and in a measured way to criticisms of Israel and Jews in general. This approach is much more likely to lead to a rational discussion than a heated argument.
