Maurice Klein speaks with Maia Ifrah, the International Partnership Director in the relations and resource development department of the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council, in the northwest Negev Desert on the border with the northeast tip of Gaza. We hear about the loss of life, hostages, devastation experienced and endured by 10 Kibbutzim, 1 Moshav and 1 absorption centre that make up the Sha'ar HaNegev.  Maia tells us how the council has been facilitating and assisting the many residents that have been returning to rebuild their lives and the communities of the green lung envelope. This is all being achieved with the much needed support from overseas Jewish communities, with JNF Australia very much a major ongoing contributor and partner with immediate support for the on-the-ground healing of Israel's south and the Sha'ar HaNegev communities.
