Medical Report: Researchers using competition to curb distracted driving

Closing out four days of the Democratic National Convention, Vice President Kamala Harris told voters they have a chance to chart a "new way forward."

“Our nation with this election has a precious, fleeting opportunity to move past the bitterness, cynicism, and divisive battles of the past,” Harris said, as she accepted the nomination. “A chance to chart a new way forward. Not as members of any one party or faction, but as Americans.”

She accepts her party's nomination for president, saying, “With this election, our nation has a precious, fleeting opportunity to move past the bitterness, cynicism, and divisive battles of the past.”

Kamala Harris invites voters to chart a 'new way forward' as she accepts Democratic nomination

Philadelphia City Council and the Police Department have been working to improve the city's 911 dispatch center following a tragic incident last summer when a dispatcher sent police to the wrong address of  a shooting victim in Kingsessing. The man was the first of five people killed in a mass shooting.  

KYW Newsradio's John McDevitt reports in addition to policy changes; understaffing, low morale and poor retention in the police radio room are being addressed
