Children diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes have a much higher risk of mental health issues, according to a new study from the University of Cambridge. It found children with diabetes were twice as likely to develop mood disorders and four times more likely to develop issues like eating and sleep disorders.

More than 300,000 children in the U.S. are living with Type 1 diabetes.
