The Middle Thorofare Bridge has reopened to traffic in Cape May County. The bridge connecting Wildwood Crest to Cape May has been closed since Saturday when the motor broke down. It was initially feared it could be closed for weeks, but Cape May County Commissioner Leonard Desiderio says repair crews "made a miracle happen." They were able to get a new motor for the bridge and the work was finished around 2 a.m.

Man admits to shooting at police during 2022 pursuit in Northeast Philadelphia

A former teacher in the Lower Merion School District will spend 30 years in prison for soliciting sexually explicit photos and videos from young girls, including at least one of his students.

Jeremy Schobel, 33, was a teacher at Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr. Over several years — and often from his classrooms — investigators said he faked extensive online profiles to entice his underage victims. Officials said he would pose as a young girl on Snapchat.

Schobel was arrested in June 2023 and pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in March. Federal prosecutors said the 30-year sentence closes the book on Schobel’s years of catfishing and gives his victims a measure of justice.
