Philadelphia now has a heat health emergency in place through Wednesday. Officials say that window may be extended if the forecast worsens.
The city's heat programs will be active. That means more than 150 cooling centers like pools and libraries will be open, enhanced outreach will help people experiencing homelessness, and special field teams can conduct home visits.
Otherwise, it's a good day as any to keep indoors — but what about the workers who keep homes and businesses cool on days like this?
KYW's Nina Baratti reports on how they find ways to beat the heat.
