As the Eagles kicked off their season in Brazil, Aramark food service workers at Lincoln Financial Field back in South Philly made it three of three arenas where workers have voted to authorize a strike amid ongoing negotiations with the company.
Authorities have charged a teenager in connection with five shootings, including two murders, in the past month.
A graduation ceremony at the Ironworkers Academy Friday shows Philadelphia’s Rebuild program is meeting one of its more challenging goals: opening opportunities for residents of underserved communities to join the skilled trades.

Philadelphia mayor Cherelle Parker says she’s proud of the one year contract extension the city negotiated with white collar workers in District Council 47. She called the 4.4% raise in the agreement "historic."
Philadelphia authorities have charged a teenager for two murders in the last few weeks, including the shooting death of Philly rap artist YBC Dul, and police say that same teen may be connected to more shootings. 
It's a milestone for one of the city's affordable housing initiatives, as the "Turn the Key" program reaches 100 houses sold.
The Pennsylvania House Transportation Committee got an update on Reading-to-Philly passenger train service, amid optimism this time around, the plan may actually become reality.
