Kurt and Kate mornings. Not just on the radio. It's a.

Podcast too.

Being a good steward of what God gives us to manage is is a vital part of our walk with Jesus, isn't it?

Yes it is. He made us to be stewards, and not all of us are gifted in understanding finances and laws. But these people are.

We could easily be intimidated. That's one of the challenges. Plus, we tend to put these things on the back burner and we should not. There are some free seminars that Moody Bible Institute is putting together emphasis on the word free to help you. It's part of an extension of a of our ministry really to to connect you with a good, solid Christian attorney. This is no sales pitch. This is none of that stuff, okay? It's not like a condo timeshare presentation. Just so I know what you might be thinking, I know we're all cynical. We just want to help you take your next steps if you don't even know where to where to begin. So there are three days coming up, the 22nd through the 24th of January. Uh, listen closely and we'll have all of those dates here in our podcast. Joining us, our good friend Steve Kyle. This is so, so important. And these estate planning seminars that you guys set up are absolutely awesome. And Kate and I have been out at some of these. We've had a chance to, uh, to see them see you guys in action. Tell us, uh, we'll get the details are coming up here just around the corner. Um, tell us how this whole thing. How many years have we been doing this?

Um, probably 20 or so. Maybe even longer. But, um, you know, when I think about estate planning, it's the one thing that people put off. Procrastination comes to mind. And I'm just thinking out in the listening area. There's probably some people who made a New Year's resolution that they're going to address their estate plan this year. This is going to be the year. So what we do is we try to break down those barriers and give them an informational session that will break down all their fears and the terminology that gets to people that that adds to that procrastination.

It's true. I haven't done estate planning. I have to be very forthright and forthcoming here. Transparency is good. Um, even though we talk about it every year, you come up here and you're in the studio. I have I have not done what I should be doing. How many what's the percentage of the of Americans who don't have a will? Uh, you know, who are over 50? My guess is there are a lot of people like you just said. Who? Just put it off.

Yeah, it's higher than you think. And for a Christian, um, I mean, the largest gift that you're ever going to make is at your death. Really? And, uh, you know, if you don't have a plan for it, um, our government does have a plan for it.

And it probably isn't what you would have planned for it. Exactly. And, you know, let's talk about age, because it's not really about age, is it? No. Everybody thinks, well, I'm too young. No you're not.

In fact, I would say that maybe the younger. With young children, the biggest reason to have a will is guardianship of those children.

Yeah. Of course, you.

Need to have a plan because the state will, you know, assign where your children are going to go, unfortunately.

That's scary. That sends a chill up my spine actually thinking about that. So when we show up at these, these seminars, um, we're going to have a local Christian attorney there, right? Somebody who really? Not just an attorney. You know, fill in the blank with an attorney. Somebody who knows Jesus.

Yes. A Christian attorney from that worldview is very important. And this is not like a timeshare where there's going to be high pressure and, you know, it is just informational. Moody helps you take that next step. Well, this is a step that every Christian needs to take. and this is a helpful seminar to get you started.

Yeah. And you don't have to make choices right there. Sign anything? It's nothing like that. Go home with the stuff you have people to call and talk to now, and you have an idea of what's going on, because.

A lot of times, people don't even know how to take the first step, to be honest.

And you walk away with resources you'll get the power point will be printed out for you. Um, and you get, you know, all the information you can need.

Okay. So we've got the Christian attorney. You've got that. Um, can I ask you what your favorite part about doing these things is? What's your favorite thing about it?

Yeah, the favorite thing would be seeing people take action. Um, just just the, the people that I meet, and they'll call or email and say, I did it, I did it. I've got my estate plan. I feel so much better. Thank you for the opportunity. That was that's my favorite part.

Whenever we show up, I always like chatting with the people. It doesn't matter Wherever we are when we're out and about. I just enjoy chatting with the people and you get to meet, you know, Moody Radio listeners and stuff. And it is that it's that moment at these seminars in particular where you see the light bulb go off Bing, and then, you know, you can be there for that moment. You probably never get tired of that.

No, no. And, you know, it's just like, oh, I didn't know it was this easy. You know, there's that's that.

Doesn't have to be complicated, right? Yeah. And we tend to be afraid of things that are appear to be too complicated.

Yeah. And it's like when we have doc where the doctor on and somebody asks a question, and then everybody else says, oh, yeah, well, what about this? What about that? And didn't even think of the question yet. So you get to hear other people's thoughts and, and questions. So you think I didn't even plan on thinking about that, but that's important. It's really a good time. Yeah.

The attorney sticks around to and you may not get all your questions answered, but there's opportunity.

See? This is great. Okay, now let's lay it out here. It's coming up with within days. We have what? We have three locations this year. Yes.

The first one is Tuesday the 27th at 6 p.m. in the Naples area. It's at the La Quinta Inn. Uh, the 23rd. We have 6 p.m. again in Lakeland at the Holiday Inn Express and the 24th Safety Harbor Resort at 10 a.m.. So it's a morning session?

Yeah. Totally free. Guys, just show up and, uh, and just have a seat. And we have room for how many people you can. All. You can always add chairs. It's a good problem to have if if the place is packed.

Let's just say that attendance is not what we would hope at this point. So if you're on the fence, it's a great time to get in. The chances are that the meeting will be smaller in number, which makes it more intimate and more possibility of getting questions answered.

Excellent producer Mark, have we made all of these testable?

Yes, absolutely. Just go ahead and text the word legacy. That's legacy to 888. 777 6810. We'll send out all of the information.

Well Steve, thank you for all that you do. And thank you for making the trip in. And we appreciate your your heart for Jesus. I'm going to out Steve right now. Almost, almost every time I see you, Steve, you say something that always moves me. You say, hey, Kurtz, do you have anything that you need prayer for? And you promise to pray for me. And so I just want to publicly thank you for being such a kind brother and doing that. Thank you.

You're very welcome, Kurt. My privilege.

That's the kind of guy Steve is. Yeah. He is.
