We may have dropped out of the triple-digits this weekend, but it's still hot, and the heat has killed a couple of kids who were left in hot cars. Last week, police in Corpus Christi say a mom forgot to drop her daughter off at daycare, leaving the two-year-old in the back of her car. She told police her daughter had fallen asleep in the car when she pulled into her job at a school about 8 am. She found her in the backseat about five hours later. The school nurse tried CPR, but the girl died and the woman was arrested. A day later, police to the north in Beeville say a woman left her nine-month-old granddaughter in a car. That girl died, too, and police expect charges there to include criminally negligent homicide, but the grandmother went to the hospital this weekend with cardiac issues.
