Traffic stop attempt in Bedford leads to hours-long standoff on 183

Simone Biles looked to add to her Olympic Hardware this morning in the Balance Beam Finals. Then Biles, alongside fellow Spring, Texas native Jordan Chiles, later competed in the Floor Exercise Finals. Argyle's-Vincent Hancock, who captured Gold in the Men's Skeet Shooting this weekend, alongside Burleson's-Connor Prince, and the rest of the US Mixed Skeet Shooting team chase the podium at 8. And Gabby Thomas of Austin, competes in the Women's 200-meter-sprint finals at 1:45!

Monday's Olympics Day Preview

Monday is the first day of practice for high school football players across the state of Texas, and coaches and trainers are working to keep student-athletes safe and hydrated in the summer heat.

Steve Keasler, the athletic director at Carroll ISD in Southlake, joined the KRLD Morning News to discuss precautions in place to protect players.

Monday marks first day of practice for Texas high school football

The weather in North Texas will be quiet this week as temperatures heat back up into the triple digits Tuesday through Friday. Those will be the hottest days this week. No rain is in the forecast until possibly the weekend, along with slightly cooler temperatures.
