The stock market is set to open lower today. That's after steep drops in Asian and European markets overnight, all tied to news in the US on Friday, says KRLD business analyst David Johnson.

At the close of business Monday, the Japanese market wrapped up its worst two-day decline ever, while South Korean stocks dropped about nine percent.
