Arlington mayor declares this the 'biggest weekend in western sports'

Concord Church in Dallas and the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center are preparing to celebrate fathers in a big way. 
The church’s "He's My Hero" event is planned for Sunday and promises a day filled with festivities aimed at honoring dads and father figures for their pivotal role in the family and community.

Afternoon highs over the weekend will reach the mid-90s Friday through Father's Day with morning lows in the 70s. Due to the very light wind and building high pressure in the upper levels, an air quality alert is in effect Friday and most likely Saturday as well. The wind will pick up from the south on Sunday and gust to 25 mph.

A new banking center and financial literacy center in North Texas is working to change those numbers. Lubbock Smith with Vista Bank joined the KRLD Afternoon News on Thursday to talk about the new center and the impact they are hoping it will make.
