Trans Athlete’s Participation in CA’s Championships Gains Nationwide Attention

Federal prosecutors say they’re opening an investigation associated with the California law that allows K-12 students to play on sports teams regardless of their gender identity. Earlier this week, President Donald Trump threatened to withhold federal funds - calling out the participation of a 16-year-old transgender girl who qualified to compete in the state track and field championships this weekend in Fresno County. For more, we’re joined by Shannon Minter, legal director for the San Francisco-based National Center for Lesbian Rights,  an LGBTQ advocacy organization.
