Health Net to Cut Assisted Living Benefits, Leaving Families Scrambling

Health Net—one of the largest Medi-Cal insurers—is planning to cancel assisted living benefits for members by the end of this year. The benefit currently covers most of the costs for these care facilities, which can run up to seven thousand dollars a month. Families say they’re scrambling to find alternatives for their loved ones.
