The number of prisoners whose time behind bars is increased for associating with gangs is on the decline in California. That's according to a new report released Thursday showing that the use of gang enhancements has declined 84 percent over the past decade.

Health Net—one of the largest Medi-Cal insurers—is planning to cancel assisted living benefits for members by the end of this year. The benefit currently covers most of the costs for these care facilities, which can run up to seven thousand dollars a month. Families say they’re scrambling to find alternatives for their loved ones.
