Bad news for deli sandwich lovers.

A listeria outbreak traced to liverwurst from the Boar's Head brand is responsible for dozens of hospitalizations and likely two deaths.

A recent Ohio State study estimated that food-borne illness from leafy greens alone cost Americans over 5-billion-dollars each year.  What can consumers do to protect themselves?

KNX News chief correspondent Charles Feldman talked with James Rogers at Consumer Reports.  Rogers tells us it doesn't take much food contamination to make a lot of people very sick.

Potato salad!

But the food that's caused the most hospitalizations and deaths from contamination:  chicken.
