VOTING: Alaska's Senate Race & James O'Keefe Charged

The New York Times investigation alleges that operatives tied to Mary Peltola's campaign and national Democratic organizations helped recruit a second candidate named Dan Sullivan to draw votes away from Republican incumbent Dan S. Sullivan. Democrats deny involvement, but the report has triggered significant political controversy and added fuel to an ongoing Justice Department lawsuit over the Alaska Senate race.

James O'Keefe and Cam Higby were charged after allegedly using the identities of real voters while conducting an undercover election-related sting operation in Minnesota. Prosecutors emphasize the charges stem from allegedly misrepresenting their identities to election workers, not from successfully casting fraudulent ballots.
