State workers in California are challenging Newsom’s mandate requiring them to return to the office four days a week starting July 1, as lawmakers advance a bill to ensure telework options. 

Gov. Gavin Newsom points to politics for a Department of Justice investigation into his and his wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom's finances. One critic says that explanation does little to address the conduct that drew federal scrutiny in the first place.

Slate Auto, a Michigan-based carmaker is racing to begin production later this year of its first model: an overtly spartan, compact truck that will start at $24,950. Buyers have eight new models to choose from under $25,000, with automakers warning that it is difficult, if not impossible, to turn a meaningful profit on such vehicles.

Google's YouTube has settled a social media addiction case brought by a 15-year-old in Florida who accused the platform of causing mental health harms to children, according to the plaintiff's lawyers. The terms of the settlement in the state court lawsuit against the social media giant were confidential.
