Tuesdays with Terry: Newport Beach Riot & FUSD Cover-Up Exposed

View descriptionShare

ABC7 reports that the Newport Beach July 4 celebrations devolved into one of the largest public-safety incidents the city has seen in years. Police arrested 402 people, most of them reportedly young visitors from outside California, after crowds allegedly engaged in fights, launched fireworks at officers and civilians, blocked roads, and looted a grocery store. The arrests were more than six times higher than during the same holiday period a year earlier.

The California Board of Registered Nursing has recommended license revocation or suspension for two Fresno Unified school nurses — Lydia Chrisel White and Xai Elizabeth Torres — and referred both cases to the state Attorney General's Office following the February 2022 death of an 11-year-old student at Homan Elementary School. The district has since paid a $1.76 million settlement to nurses who alleged Torres discriminated against them, and faces multiple additional lawsuits alleging nepotism and retaliation connected to the same leadership network.
