The Wall Street Journal reports that Mojtaba Khamenei, who succeeded his father Ali Khamenei as Iran’s supreme leader after the U.S.-Israeli air campaign earlier this year, is consolidating power and signaling a tougher stance toward the Trump administration through a major overhaul of Iran’s security leadership. 

The Guardian reports that President Donald Trump secretly traveled on a different military aircraft after a NATO summit in Turkey in July 2026, while the public, reporters, and some White House staff were led to believe he was aboard Air Force One. The operation was reportedly prompted by a credible Iranian assassination threat. 

Wisconsin State Rep. Francesca Hong, a Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) member and candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor, is facing renewed scrutiny over past social media posts that critics argue were sharply critical of the United States and traditional American institutions.
