The editorial says Americans are being fed “only bad news fit to print,” distorting public understanding of the conflict and overstating Iran’s strength while ignoring its strategic failures and domestic instability. 

One of the United States’ top counterterrorism officials resigned on Tuesday, citing his opposition to the war in Iran and what he said was Israel’s influence over the Trump administration’s policies, a sign of emerging divisions in the Republican coalition.

The Wall Street Journal criticizes the Pentagon for spending millions on luxury seafood, including lobster, and other high‑end catering, arguing it reflects a culture of unchecked excess inside the Defense Department. 

AI chatbots are now “poisoning” academic research by inventing realistic-sounding but completely fake citations, which are then being cited in real scholarly articles, a problem that began with student essays and has now spread to professional journals. 

In the 1960s, a shaky film shot in the wilderness helped launch the Bigfoot industry, enriching and then upending the lives of the men behind it. ‘Capturing Bigfoot’ chronicles the fallout. 

GameStop has officially labeled the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii U as “retro consoles” and launched a Retro Trade-In Bonus, running through March 21, offering an extra 10% credit on these trade-ins.  They’ll even take non-working units using power-on functionality, humorously reminding buyers that “historic artifacts” are still “very cool.”

Clovis Unified School District did not see a significant increase in absences last month due to a student walkout, data shows. Absenteeism data acquired by The Fresno Bee, per California’s Public Records Act, shows that on Feb. 10, Clovis Unified recorded 642 unexcused absences, including 211 high school students and 87 intermediate students. 

During a California Senate subcommittee hearing, lawmakers grilled State Librarian Greg Lucas over $650,000 in unaccounted funding tied to a Dolly Parton–backed child literacy program. Senator Sasha Renée Pérez called the missing funds “incredibly serious,” while Senator Shannon Grove warned the lack of transparency “reeks of … potential fraud.” 

Brian Cole Jr., charged with planting pipe bombs at the DNC and RNC headquarters on Jan. 5, 2021, is now seeking dismissal of charges, arguing that Trump’s sweeping Jan. 6 pardons extend to his alleged actions since they were “inextricably tethered” to the Capitol events. His lawyers contend the clemency was worded broadly to cover pending and past charges tied to Jan. 6, while the White House disputes that interpretation.
