T‑Mobile is forcing many customers off older grandfathered plans and onto newer 5G-era plans beginning in July 2026. The controversy stems from T‑Mobile's past promises that made customers believe their grandfathered plans would remain largely untouched.

To celebrate Mel Brooks' 100th birthday, the American Film Institute (AFI) officially elevated his 1974 comedy Blazing Saddles to the No. 1 spot on its famous"100 Years...100 Laughs" list, declaring it the funniest American film ever made. 

Authorities in the Mexican state of Jalisco are searching for an unidentified vigilante nicknamed "Mexican Batman" after multiple suspected motorcycle thieves were found duct-taped to lampposts and utility poles with signs accusing them of theft.

Michigan lawmakers voted unanimously to make it easier for kids to run lemonade stands by exempting qualifying child-run beverage stands from permits, licenses, and fees. Supporters say it protects a classic childhood entrepreneurial activity and removes unnecessary regulation from businesses earning less than $5,000 per year. 

Comcast is breaking itself into two standalone public companies: one focused on internet and wireless connectivity, and another built around NBCUniversal, Peacock, Universal Studios, theme parks, and Sky. Wall Street welcomed the move because investors believe the two businesses may perform better—and be valued more highly—on their own.

As the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona and Republican Sen. Todd Young of Indiana are arguing that America's political system needs more cooperation across party lines and more willingness by elected officials to make difficult decisions that may not be politically popular.  

Police say a Walnut Creek teenager turned California's public sex-offender registry into what investigators describe as a personal target list, confronting and allegedly shooting BB pellets at people he believed were listed there. The case remains in juvenile court, and authorities are also investigating the teen in a separate drug-related matter.
