Philip Teresi sits down with Fresno City Manager Georgeanne White. The City of Fresno has officially regained control of Granite Park Sports Complex after evicting the nonprofit Central Valley Community Sports Foundation (CVCSF), which had operated the facility for about a decade. On June 30, city officials and locksmiths changed the locks at the city-owned complex on Cedar Avenue and took possession of the property. After winning the legal battle to regain control of Granite Park, Fresno became responsible for managing reservations, field rentals, and facility operations. City officials said a formal fee schedule was required in order to legally collect fees from sports leagues and event organizers using the complex. City Manager Georgeanne White said the city intends to operate Granite Park similarly to the Regional Sports Complex in southwest Fresno and honor existing reservations to avoid disruptions for users.
