A 1970 time capsule buried beneath Fashion Fair Mall's former Weinstock's/Gottschalks/Forever 21 building was safely removed before demolition began. The capsule is now being protected by mall management and will eventually be displayed publicly, but it remains scheduled to stay sealed until 2070, just as originally intended. 

The Independent reports on allegations that Rep. Anna Paulina Luna shared advance information that Donald Trump would select JD Vance as his running mate, allegedly helping influencer DC Draino place a winning Polymarket bet. Luna and O'Handley deny the claims, and no wrongdoing has been established. The story is part of a broader debate over insider information and the growing popularity of political betting markets. 

Carlos Reales Dominguez killed two men and seriously injured a woman in a nearly week-long spree before his capture. He faced second-degree murder, attempted murder and involuntary manslaughter charges. Jurors determined Dominguez was not guilty of second-degree murder, but they convicted him on two counts of involuntary manslaughter, with weapons enhancements, for the men.  

Federal health officials are urging consumers to check their refrigerators as investigators continue examining a large Cyclospora outbreak that has sickened more than 1,600 people across multiple states. Evidence currently points to shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms de Mexico as the likely source.
