Migues Arias The Art Critic, Senate Reversal & Trump Asks Congress For Billions

View descriptionShare

Philip takes a look at a Facebook post by Fresno City Councilmember Miguel Arias. The Councilmember shared an unedited image of a woman using a public art sculpture as a place to sleep. After speaking with her, she agreed to move. The post was framed as a real-life encounter with a homeless individual using public art for shelter, using it to stress respect for community spaces—while sparking broader discussion about homelessness and empathy.

Hours after President Trump blasted Sen. Bill Cassidy for supporting a war powers resolution, Cassidy helped to deliver Trump a victory by voting with the majority of Republicans late Wednesday. The vote blocked a separate resolution aimed at reining in the president's war powers in Iran from advancing.

The White House has asked lawmakers to approve $87.6bn (£66.5bn), mostly for "urgent needs" connected with the US war on Iran, a day after Congress passed a resolution rebuking the military action.
