Do you support the idea of privatizing Fresno County library operations? 

The Fields Fire near Snelling in eastern Merced County has grown to about 1,100 acres and is 40% contained. Smoke from the blaze is drifting into Fresno and surrounding counties, causing noticeable smoky conditions. Evacuation warnings have been lifted, but some road closures remain in place while firefighters continue containment efforts. 

With the county's Measure C replacement delayed, Fresno leaders are proposing a $65 million-per-year general-fund measure to offset the loss of Measure C revenue and avoid a projected $54 million annual deficit in city services. City officials say the plan would not raise the sales tax rate, but instead keep it at its current level while giving Fresno flexible funding for essential services after Measure C expires in 2027.
