Mark Fuhrman Dies, Visalia Driver Following Students & California Cities Sue High Speed Rail

View descriptionShare

Former LAPD detective Mark Fuhrman, known for his role in the O.J. Simpson murder trial, has died. Fuhrman became one of the most controversial figures in the case, with his testimony and later revelations about past statements drawing intense national scrutiny and shaping the trial’s legacy.

Visalia police are investigating reports of a suspicious driver allegedly following students near Redwood High School, raising safety concerns in the community. Authorities say no crimes have been confirmed, but they are urging families and students to stay alert as the investigation continues.

A Newsweek report says some California cities are raising concerns over plans tied to high-speed rail funding, calling it a potential “tax grab” tied to local revenues. Supporters argue the funding is necessary to keep the long-delayed project moving, while critics warn it could place more financial pressure on local communities already facing budget challenges.
