Gov. Gavin Newsom confirmed he has hired Abbe Lowell as his defense attorney as the U.S. Department of Justice continues its apparent investigation involving people associated with the governor and his wife.
CalMatters reports that Gov. Newsom is standing firm on California's four-day-per-week return-to-office mandate despite significant resistance from state employee unions. While unions argue telework has proven effective and delivers financial and environmental benefits, Newsom says in-person work is important for collaboration, accountability, and revitalizing California's downtown economies.
