Gov. Gavin Newsom made another visit to the Central Valley Tuesday, to celebrate what he called “significant progress” toward the completion of the High Speed Rail project. The federal government has pulled $4 billion in funding, but Newsom said that was the wrong decision.
Supreme Court, which had rejected a Democratic challenge to Texas redistricting in December, denied review of a lower-court ruling that found the California maps were drawn for partisan political purposes, a goal the high court has ruled to be legal.
