Toddler Morgue Mix-Up 

The Fresno Bee reports that placing all four of Fresno's newly proposed ballot measures on the November 3, 2026 ballot would cost taxpayers an estimated $600,000, according to Fresno County election officials. Each measure is expected to cost about $150,000 to add to the ballot and voter guide. 

Arizona prosecutors have decided not to file child abuse charges against the parents of an 18-month-old boy who made national headlines after being pronounced dead following a pool accident and then being discovered alive nearly six hours later in a hospital morgue.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the man discovered dead on the roof of a building on the Fresno High campus on Friday as 30-year Daniel Ramirez. A Fresno Unified worker discovered a body on the roof. 

Fresno Unified School District, California's third-largest school district, is facing a significant enrollment decline that officials say is creating serious financial and operational challenges. New projections show the district expects to lose 1,199 students during the 2026-27 school year, an increase from the 1,044 students lost the previous year.
