Fresno City Council Eyes Sales Tax & Permanent Daylight Saving Time

Guest Host: John Gerardi

GV Wire reports that Fresno city leaders are exploring a possible city sales tax measure for the November ballot following the likely delay of the countywide Better Roads, Safe Streets transportation initiative. With Measure C set to expire in 2027, some council members are considering a local funding solution that could help maintain revenue for city priorities if a countywide replacement remains stalled.

The House of Representatives voted to approve the Sunshine Protection Act, a bill that would end the twice-yearly clock changes and make Daylight Saving Time (DST) permanent nationwide, moving a long-running debate one step closer to resolution. The bill passed with bipartisan support and now heads to the Senate.
