A WSJ editorial says Congress, especially Democrats, is putting politics ahead of national security by risking expiration of a vital surveillance program. But the larger reality shows the fight is really about how to balance security vs. privacy, not just partisan politics. 

The rocket maker now has a market cap of $2.1 trillion, becoming America's sixth most valuable public company. SpaceX shares ended the day up 19% as investors worldwide finally began trading the largest-ever initial public offering after weeks of anticipation and speculation.

About 70 teenagers (mostly girls) were on a school outing at Memorial Park in Nyack. Some students entered a stormwater culvert / tunnel system. They kept exploring and traveled quite far underground and eventually became lost and scared. 

US officials have found a location in the Northeast where unexplained glowing orbs frequently appear in the night sky, bringing experts closer to solving a longstanding UFO mystery. The site’s existence, reported to the FBI and confirmed by agents, is being disclosed Friday as part of a third tranche of UFO files released pursuant to President Trump’s February declassification order. 

Artist David Hockney, whose paintings of pools shimmering in the Los Angeles sunshine became icons of 20th-century art, died Thursday, his publicist said. He was 88.

A political operative’s yearslong scheme to embezzle party funds has become a source of anger and embarrassment in Scotland, but not entirely for the reasons you might think. 

Short answer, No. Don’t leave it running at your normal cool temperature all day. But also don’t always shut it completely off either. The best strategy is a middle ground approach: Turn it off or turn it up when you’re away. Then cool the house before you get back.

Per a Judge ruling, The City of Fresno was granted immediate possession of Granite Park in Central Fresno. The City terminated its lease with Central Valley Community Sports Foundation in 2025 and filed eviction proceedings to remove CVCSF as the Operator.
