Marine archaeologists in Denmark have discovered the wreck of the Dannebroge, a 19th‑century Danish warship sunk during the 1801 Battle of Copenhagen against Admiral Horatio Nelson’s British fleet. The find offers a rare, physical glimpse into one of Europe’s most famous naval battles, with cannons, personal items, and human remains recovered as researchers race to excavate the site before it is covered by a new coastal housing project.
