Federal authorities have opened a criminal probe into whether two immigration officers lied under oath about a shooting in Minneapolis. All charges were dropped against two Venezuelan men. The officers, whose names were not disclosed, are on administrative leave while the investigation is carried out.

President Donald Trump said he’d agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday, less than two hours before his 8 p.m. deadline to destroy a “whole civilization.” 

President Donald Trump has set an 8 p.m. ET deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or else the U.S. will begin targeting the nation's power plants and bridges Tuesday. Iran has rejected proposals put forward by the U.S., and Trump in turn shut down a 10-point plan from Tehran on Monday, saying it was "not good enough."

The debate has sparked strong reactions, with supporters calling it an erasure of civil‑rights history and critics questioning Chávez’s legacy and whether schools should honor controversial figures. 

The district launched its audit on retirees’ dependents amid a network dispute that temporarily disrupted health care services for thousands of retirees and their dependents. Retirees last month filed a class-action lawsuit against the district over healthcare plan changes in 2023 they say diluted their benefits.
