Data Brokers Deny Delete Request

A Bloomberg Law analysis of California's first-in-the-nation data broker registry found that data brokers operating in the state have denied or ignored more than 1 million consumer requests to delete personal information over the past two years, raising concerns about how effectively Americans can exercise privacy rights that exist on paper.

California's third-largest school district, Fresno Unified, is preparing for another significant decline in student enrollment, with new projections showing the district could lose nearly 1,200 students during the 2026-27 school year. The drop would exceed last year's loss and continue a trend that has been affecting the district for years. 

A group of Clovis Unified teachers has taken a major step toward forming a teachers union, potentially ending the district's 66-year history without a union representing classroom teachers.
