The archbishop of Washington, D.C., on Wednesday removed a longtime archdiocesan exorcist, saying his recent comments about UFOs being demons “gravely undermine” church teachings. Monsignor Stephen Rossetti is a priest and psychologist who has held prominent positions in the Archdiocese of Washington for decades. 

In the race to replace Nancy Pelosi’s Senate seat, three major Democrats ran but Scott Wiener and Connie Chan advanced. The November election will decide not just a representative, but the future direction of San Francisco’s leadership.

DeSantis wants to cut or eliminate property taxes for many Florida homeowners. To make up for lost revenue, he suggests leaning more on wealthy and non-resident property owners. That messaging sounds like a “tax the rich” argument, which is why critics compare it to Mamdani, but it’s still a tax-cut plan overall, not a broad tax increase.
