Decades-Old Bald Eagle Myth

The Trump administration has finalized a rule that could deny federal student loans to students enrolled in degree programs whose graduates do not earn enough income compared with people who only have high school diplomas. Supporters call it an accountability measure, while critics argue it unfairly targets lower-paying but socially important professions such as social work, the arts, education, and religious studies. The rule is expected to take effect in 2027. 

The caretakers of Jackie, the famous Big Bear bald eagle currently being treated at the Ojai Raptor Center, used social media this week to correct a misconception that has been perpetuated by Hollywood for decades: the iconic "bald eagle scream" heard in movies is not actually made by bald eagles.

Country music legend Willie Nelson has publicly called on Americans, especially those in rural communities, to oppose the rapid expansion of data centers, arguing that they threaten farmland, water resources, and the character of small towns. 

11-year-old Ashton Meyer, who transformed a basic neighborhood chore into a thriving business. Despite initial fears of rejection, he built a growing customer base, gained more than 100,000 social media followers, and became an example of young entrepreneurship through persistence, hard work, and a willingness to knock on doors and ask for business.  

CNBC reports that James Comey is seeking dismissal of the criminal case over his “8647” seashells post and is accusing the Secret Service of illegally surveilling him during the investigation. His lawyers argue that agents tracked him without proper legal authority and that the entire prosecution is politically motivated, while prosecutors continue to maintain that the post constituted a threat against President Trump.
