Councilmember Miguel Arias plans to introduce a motion on March 26 proposing to restore the original names—California Avenue, Ventura Street, and Kings Canyon Road—to segments previously renamed Cesar Chavez Boulevard. The move comes in response to sexual abuse allegations against Chavez, which have prompted intense community backlash. 

Gov. Gavin Newsom said he's considering renaming César Chávez Day in California after disturbing sexual abuse allegations surfaced involving the late labor leader—including accusations from Dolores Huerta.  He emphasized the importance of honoring the broader farmworker movement rather than one individual, calling the situation a “sensitive moment” and suggesting conversations are already underway. 

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. on Tuesday denounced personal attacks aimed at judges and justices, calling them “dangerous.” “It’s got to stop,” he said.
