Gavin Newsom has reversed course and will now enforce federal rules requiring truck drivers to pass an English‑proficiency test, after the USDOT froze over $40 million because California was the only state refusing to comply. Gov. Gavin Newsom is firing back at critics who’ve accused him of racism over comments about his low SAT scores in an onstage chat with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens — with an expletive-filled rant online.
