Candy makers, including Hershey, are quietly cutting real cocoa from some chocolate products, replacing it with cheaper vegetable fats as cocoa prices soar. Fans say the change makes once‑beloved treats taste “waxy” and fake, fueling backlash online. 

Low literacy remains a major crisis in the U.S., with more than 60% of prison inmates and 85% of juveniles in the court system classified as functionally illiterate, according to national data.
