California nursing regulators concluded that two Fresno Unified nurses failed in their professional duties surrounding the 2022 death of an 11-year-old student who suffered a severe asthma attack at school. Investigators allege one nurse failed to call an ambulance despite obvious signs of distress, while her supervisor failed to properly investigate the incident. Both now face possible loss of their nursing licenses.
