About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

It's going to increase their imagination, decrease screen time, and we're gonna have a lot of fun along the way. Are you guys ready for today's adventure?

Me too. Let's go.

A stomp stomp stomp quaked through town one morning, followed by a crash. Oh there it goes Patty again, one of the townsfolk side. They held onto their shelves of picture frames in flower vases to keep them from tumbling to the ground. You see, Patty the Potosaurus had just woken up and everyone in town knew it. He was the largest dinosaur and also the clumsiest. Everywhere Patty went, he stumbled or tripped, crashed or squashed. What a beautiful morning, exclaimed Patty as he stared up at the blue sky. The only things above him were the birds and the airplanes. He waved to some as he walked, Hello.

Birds, high their airplane.

His head was so high in the sky he paid no attention to what his feet were doing.

Water exploded all over the street from the fire hydrant Patty had just stepped on.

Oops, Patty said. He tried to find something to stop the water from spraying all over. Here we go, Patty said, as he uprooted a ginormous tree.

That should work.

The dinosaur stuck the tree inside the broken hydrant, plugging the hole. When no water escaped for a moment, Patty smiled in relief and continued walking. He didn't notice when the water pressure grew so strong that the tree was.

Launched into the air, water exploding out once more, and the tree sailing through the sky until it landed upside down in the middle of the town's movie theater.

The firefighter sighed when they received the call, Oh Patty, what are we going to do about that dinosaur? Patty was so hungry, so he headed to the Farmer's market since he was too big to fit inside of a grocery store. You see, last time he had tried his head though, got stuck in the automatic doors for a whole day. Ugh not a fun time. So now he's stuck to the markets without doors or roofs Oh no, here comes, Patty, mumbled farmer Frank. At the flower stand, he packed up his favorite flowers and braced himself for the dinosaur's arrival. All down the row, the other shops did the same. Last week, Sally's soap stand was stomped on, causing the dino's feet to slip and slide. You know, soap can be pretty slippery in between your toes, and Patty smashed into the other stands like bowling pins. Patty spotted Letty's let us stand.

Yum, I love lettuce, take every leaf.

Letty smiled and packaged it all up for him. Everything was going well, surprisingly well, oh dear, until Patty turned around. Woo, his tail swiped the row of behind him.

Oops.

Patty cried as apples flew across the market, rolling everywhere Patty tried to get out of the way and chase after them, but all his running around just stomped them into apple sauce, leaving the market a sticky mess. Go home, Patty, we will clean it up, the people shouted. Patty gathered his lettuce and left, heading back to his home. That dinosaur, he is nothing but trouble, yo. What are we going to do about him? The townspeople were exhausted from their clumsy dinosaur. They continued to grumble and groan as they cleaned up his mess until they heard the town fire alarm. They looked up and saw the firefighters racing towards them. The fire truck pulled up to the market and firefighter Franny jumped out.

Has anyone seen Patty? We need his help.

The townspeople told them what had happened and how they just sent Paddy home. Then Franny jumped back in the fire truck, racing after Patty. The dinosaur was moping down the road very sad. When he heard the sirens behind him. He saw a firefighter waving to him as they approached.

Fatny, Hi, Franny, the fighter man, what's wrong? Oh dear, have I stepped on another fire hydrant. Patty looked around at the ground. No, no, Patty, we need your help. The school took a class trip to the skyscraper and the elevator broke.

They are stuck at the top and we can't reach them with our ladders. It's too tall. The townspeople needed Patty. They had never needed him before. There was no time to waste. Let's go gole go gold, Patty shouted. Together, Patty and the fire truck raced to save the kids. The kids were worried and waiting for help. When Patty's head Punk appeared in the window of the skyscraper. His nose kind of bumped into the window.

Yay, it's Patty.

The kids all cheered for the dinosaur when they saw him. With the firefighter's help, the students climbed onto Patty's head and slid all the way down his long neck, to his back, down his tail, and safely to the ground. By the time the last student had reached the ground, the whole town had gathered to watch this crazy event. They were so grateful for Patty's help that they even threw him a giant party. Everyone thanked Patty, and together everyone decided to help make the town a little bit more dinosaur friendly. After all, their town wouldn't be the same without their dinosaur and new hero, Patty the Apatosaurus.

The end.

Great job, you listened all the way to the end, and it's.

Time for kid shout out.

So I want to say Hey, Tomaya from Washington, Jordan from Arizona, Roman and Julian from Wisconson, Lincoln from Massachusetts, Ethan from North Carolina, Ward from Tennessee, and John from Nebraska. I'm so glad that you're all in the Kid Short Stories family. We could not have this much fun with imagination without you, my friends. Will I hope you all have a super duper day and I'll see you next time.

Bye.
