Hello, my friends, it's Mr Jim and welcome back to get your stories. Today's story comes to us from one of my friends, Lily. Hey. Lily, she was hanging out with me on Instagram Live the other day and she had a really cool idea about her fish named Katie. Her fish, I think is a really good singer, and Lily wants a story about her. So are you guys ready for today's adventure? Me too. Let's go. One day in the beautiful blue waters of the ocean lived a fish. Her name was Katie. Hey Katie. Katie was one of the most beautiful singers in the whole ocean, and today was a big day. To day was the whole wide World Ocean Singing Contest. This was all fish and octopuses, sharks and whales and dolphins picked all their best singers and sent them to this competition, and Katie was selected to represent the fish. This was a day she'd been looking forward to her entire life, and she was just about to wake up. Oh it's Katie yawned and stretched her fins and blinked her eyes and looked around. She said, oh boy, I am ready to Oh no, what happened? I've what happened to my voice? Oh no, Katie's voice, It's gone. She lost her voice. What is she gonna do? Oh no, cried Katie. Can you I don't have a voice anymore. She started swimming around to all her friends asking for help, but no one had any ideas until this one see an Enemy helped her out. Oh Katie, it's it's great to see you. How are you doing. I'm doing terrible my voice. I sound like I swallowed a piece of coral. Oh well, don't worry. You see, there's some magical sea kelp that can fix any fishes sore throat, and I know exactly where to find it, said the an enemy. Let's see an enemy gave Katie a map, a map that was leading to a pretty far away place. That meant Katie had to swim fast, but it led to a special place in the middle of the ocean where this magical sea kelp was growing. Do you want kelp is? Yeah, it's kind of like seaweed. It's a plant that grows underwater in the ocean, and this one kind of kelp. I guess it has some kind of magical healing powers for fish's throats. Okay, well, thank you. I'll get on my way. Katie could barely speak anymore. What is she gonna do if she can't find this kelp? I don't know if she's going to be able to compete in the singing contest tonight. Oh no, As Katie's started swimming as fast as she could. She had a long way to go to find this kelp. And as she was swimming, she just kept swimming and swimming and swimming, and finally she got to a point on the map where it said, all right, what does it say? What does it say? She thought to herself. It says, when you come up upon this three pokey cliff, Okay, you're supposed to turn left. Okay, all right, let's keep going. Katie kept swimming and blowing bubbles. There's all kinds of vocal exercises that she was trained to do to help stretch out her vocal cords and relax them, and it involved blowing a lot of bubbles. Do you know how to blow bubbles underwater? Oh? It's really fun. You close your eyes and hold your birth and then go underwater and then blow bubbles, just like Katie the singing Fish. Well, this was a part of her singing exercise, but it was still not helping. She still sounded terrible. Excuse me, said Katie as she was asking for some help. Could you help me? I think I'm getting closer to this kelp forest? But have you ever seen that kelp forest before? Katie was asking one of the local octopuses for help. Hey, yeah, I've been to that. Uh what's it called? Gun the skelp? There's a kelp forest? Oh the sea coup for Yeah, I've been there before. Uhh. The octopus looked confused and was turning around his head, and he lifted up his arms and started pointing in all kinds of different directions. And octopuses have a lot of arms, so there was a lot of directions. I think it might be that way or that way or that way. I don't I don't know. It's okay, thanks for helping, mumbled Katie. Oh no, the octopus was not helpful at all. He just made it even more confusing because he pointed in eight different directions. Oh dear, all right, Katie needed to ask somebody else for help. Hello over there, can you help me? It was a little shrimp who didn't know who was talking. He just heard that scary voice. Oh don't worry, I'm I'm not gonna eat you. I just lost my voice, said Katie. Sir rong, Wow lovers does not manchor false. Um uh sortking front, said the shrimp. I'm looking for this forest made of kelp. Uh have you been to the kelp forest before? Absolutely, it's this round conn. The shrimp led Katie right to the kelp forest. It was humongous, an amazing. Kelp forests are super tall. They hang all the way from the top of the water all the way to the bottom, and it really does look like a forest. It's pretty cool. Katie grabbed a couple of clippings of the kelp and gurgled some water with the kelp in her mouth. Um did that? Oh no, my voice still sad. It's oh eight. It says to do it three times, okay. And she got another piece of help and gargled and spit and got a third piece of kelp, put it in her mouth and gargled and spin. Oh huh wait, that's my voice, my voices back. Katie was so happy. Thanks for your help. I gotta go by bell. The shrimp was left there, waving and kind of wanted to come with, and so the shrimp followed Katie behind. As Katie was raising back to the singing contest and the shrimp hiding right behind her, she was so happy. No no no, no, no no no no no, no, no no no, as she was singing the rest of the way getting ready, she finally made it to the competition.
