Hello, friends, it's Mr Jim. Welcome back to Kids Short Stories. Today's story comes to us from Winona. Hey, Winona, she sent us an awesome idea first story, and you can't to Just head over to kids short Stories dot com. Send me your idea and maybe we'll turn it into an awesome adventure. Are you ready for today's awesome story about an invisible unicorn? Me too. Let's go. Hey, Buttercup, can you pass me that coffee pot over there? Said Winona? Sure? Thing here it is. Winona and Buttercup were playing house together and they love to play family and they played it probably every single day, and they always loved to pretend that they were baking something in the kitchen or making breakfast for their family, and they always had a lot of fun doing that. Well, you have to know, Buttercup is an invisible friend of Winona's and Buttercup hasn't always been invisible. Um, it's been a very long time that she turned invisible. But right now, Buttercup is invisible and Winona is like her best friend. Hey Buttercup, UM, what do you want to do now? We've been playing family for a long time. I don't know, but I'm kind of tired of being invisible, said Buttercup. Wait you're tired of being invisible? What do you mean you've been invisible forever? Oh no, he said, Buttercup. I've actually not been invisible forever. I used to be a real creature, and I can't really remember what I was. Uh do you Winona thought, for a second, I think you were a unicorn. Aren't you an invisible unicorn? That's so what I always thought you were. I don't remember. I've played all these different characters in our stories for so long. I kind of forget who I am. Wait a second, I bet if I go back to who I really am, then I'll stop being invisible, said Buttercup. Oh that's a good idea. Whenona said, all right, think think, think who am I? Who is Buttercup? Buttercup thought to herself and she had to try and remember who she really was, because after all these years of being invisible and playing all these different characters in their games, I think she had forgotten who she really was. I really do like to go swimming sometimes. Maybe I'm a shark. Yeah. Maybe if I put a shark fin on my back, then I will turn visible. Because being invisible is fun, but it's not and more because I want to play with people and for them to see with me, and in being invisible it is really hard. So let's make a shark fin and I'll put it on my back and maybe that will turn me visible again. Winona and Buttercup started to draw and cut out on a big piece of paper a nice beautiful shark fin. They attached some string and rubber bands to it so they could tie it around Buttercup and put it right on her back. Perfect, that looks beautiful, all right now one, two, three? Buttercup closed her eyes and opened them. My back up and oh no, I'm still invisible? How oh no? What am I? What am? I went on a thought to herself, Buttercup, I really think that you're a unicorn. No, I'm not a unicorn. Unicorns are weird. I want to be something else. I um uh, maybe a tree. I'm oh, I'm totally a tree. Let's go get some branches and maybe if we can tie the branches to me, then that will turn me visible again. And now I'll turn into a tree. Okay. When Nona said she didn't think that Buttercup was a tree, but she was just kind of going along with it. When Oa ran outside and got some small tree branches with some string and tape and tie it and taped them around Buttercup. She was starting to look pretty silly with this shark fin and tree branches all sticking out of her, and Buttercup closed her eyes and count into three, one, two, three. Buttercup opened her eyes back up. Still nothing. I'm still invisible. I'm never gonna turn back into my normal self. I want to be seen. Buttercup was getting a little sad, and Winona came over to give her a hug, and then Buttercup thought of one more idea. Wait a second, I love cats. I must be a cat, like a real cat with whiskers and a tail and fluffy, and that's totally what I am. They ran downstairs to get some string to turn into whiskers. This might actually work, went on a thought to herself. Buttercup really did like cats, and maybe she was a cat. They quickly put together a whisker face to put on Buttercup, as like a mask with cat whiskers. And they thought, as soon as they put this whisker mask on top of Buttercup's face, then she would totally turn into a cat. She closed her eyes and count into three, one, two, three. She opened her eyes and immediately started to cry, I'll never be myself? Who am I? Wanona? I don't remember? As Wenona held onto Buttercup as she cried, Wanona patted her back and reminded her, Buttercup, I really think that you're a unicorn, and I don't think you should be afraid of being that. Buttercup said, Are you sure you really think that's what I am? Wenona said, yeah, I know it's been a long time, but I think you should just take off all of these silly things and maybe if you really are your true self, then you will turn visible again. One by one, they started to take off all of the silly costumes, which Buttercup started to think. I think she'd always been in a different costume every day for as long as she can remember. As they pulled off the branches and the shark fin and cat whiskers and the fireman boots and everything else that she had been putting on her for years and years. Finally she closed her eyes and opened them back up one, two, three. Buttercup could not believe it. Buttercup shouted, Winona, I am a unicorn. Buttercup was so happy to finally be seen again. And she was seen when she finally realized who she truly was, not all these silly costumes that she was putting on. That was who maybe she wanted to be, but it wasn't her. And so after all these years of playing all these fun games with Winona, she had kind of forgotten who she was. But Buttercup was indeed a very beautiful and magical unicorn. And it's all thanks to Winona who saved Buttercup. Wow, what a happy adventure. I'm so glad that Winona saved the day and helped Buttercup become visible again. Well, I think these friends are just in the beginning of a beautiful friendship. The end. Wow, you listened all the way to the end of the story. Great job.
