Surgeons are frequently treating what they deem the "avocado hand"

Avocados are back in season and if you're reaching for one to add to your salad or breakfast, here's your reminder to use caution as you're opening them.

Thousands of people injure themselves every year as they're prepping avocados and it's such a common injury that surgeons even call it "avocado hand."

To tell us more, KCBS Radio's Patti Reising and Bret Burkhart were joined by Eric Wagner, hand surgeon and associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Emory University.
