Richmond police is doubling up street patrols in hopes of quelling any weekend violence that may stem from a rash of shootings and homicides this week that hit KCBS close to home. 56 year old Miguel Ramirez, a longtime custodian in the KCBS building, was killed by a stray bullet Tuesday night. The Biden administration has rolled out regulations forcing coal-powered plants to almost completely eliminate the pollution they release, or shut down.

The changes are being met with fierce resistance by the coal industry, saying rural communities and the electrical grid will suffer.
