New sate law requires schools to post plans for emergencies

It's no secret that wildfires and other emergencies are disruptive to day-to-day routines, including getting to school. Chronic absenteeism has more than doubled in California schools since the start of the pandemic.

Now, a new education trailer bill signed by Governor Newsom last week will require schools to post plans for how they will handle instructing students during emergencies or else face losing funding.
