Mary Poppins said a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. Pharmacies used to use flavorings like grape, but not anymore. But because of new federal guidelines, many California pharmacies will be suspending their flavor offerings at a time when families are especially concerned with winter illnesses and infections.
